Migrations & S/4HANA Move
Data and system migration from R/3, ERP and non-SAP systems to SAP S/4HANA — carefully planned, cleanly tested and with traceable data quality.
At a glance

- Cut-over planning & go-live support
Migrate to S/4HANA safely
Greenfield, brownfield or selective data transfer: a migration determines the quality of your future processes. CaRD has been migrating for decades — from classic SAP (R/3, ERP) as well as from non-SAP systems — and knows the pitfalls of old data just as well as the requirements of modern S/4HANA structures.
We analyse your starting point, define migration objects, cleanse and harmonise data and transfer it reproducibly into the target system. In doing so we use our own tools such as the CaRD MIG Workbench, which lets us map even complex scenarios in a fully reversible way and identify customizing gaps early. Every migration run is testable, repeatable and fully documented — so the productive cut-over holds no surprises.
Data migration
Transfer of master and transactional data from R/3, ERP and non-SAP systems — with clearly defined mappings.
- Migration objects & mapping
- Duplicate checks & cleansing
- Complete reconciliation logs
System migration
Technical migration of entire systems including consolidation and relocation.
- Client copies
- System consolidation
- Data-centre moves
Quality assurance
Every run is repeatable and traceable — data quality is measured, not claimed.
- Multiple test iterations
- Validation rules
- Reporting for business & audit
Cut-over & go-live
Detailed cut-over planning minimises downtime at the productive start.
- Dress rehearsal
- Minimal time window
- Hypercare after go-live
Frequently asked questions
Do you migrate from old SAP releases or from non-SAP systems?
Yes. We migrate from R/3 and ERP as well as from non-SAP systems to S/4HANA. Our decades of experience pay off especially with long-lived data.
Greenfield or brownfield — what do you recommend?
It depends on your processes, data quality and goals. We evaluate both approaches (and selective transfer) neutrally and recommend the most economical path for you.
How do you ensure data quality?
Through reproducible migration runs, multiple test iterations, defined validation rules and complete reconciliation logs between source and target systems.
Which tools do you use?
We use our own CaRD MIG Workbench. With it we map even complex scenarios in a fully reversible way, identify customizing gaps early and reliably migrate comparatively complex objects such as production orders, bills of material or routings — reproducibly, verifiably and with full control over every run.
Which use cases does the CaRD MIG Workbench support?
A broad spectrum: harmonisation, system split and classic migration scenarios — both on-premise and in the cloud. This includes SAP-to-SAP and non-SAP migrations as well as SAP export. It is also well suited to distributing master and transactional data into other systems.
Do you also migrate archive data?
Yes. On request we also migrate archive data and other archive objects — such as binary data, cluster tables, transactional data (SARA), GOS attachments, document info records and business documents.
Can we switch to New G/L or harmonise company codes during the migration?
Yes, that is possible. Where needed we combine the migration with the move to the new general ledger (New G/L) or with the harmonisation of company codes and organisational structures.
Can you also support data cleansing?
Gladly. We follow an AI-supported approach to detect duplicates and inconsistencies. As effort and method depend heavily on your data and its quality, data cleansing is usually a separate project, which we lay out transparently for you.
What about system split, harmonisation, consolidation or carve-out when selling a unit?
We support every approach — from system consolidation and harmonisation to system split and the data extract when selling a business unit (carve-out). We are happy to show you the possible paths and their pros and cons.
